Repetitive stretching and falling on an overstretched hand are the most common causes of wrist injuries. Footballers are at risk of wrist injuries due to continuous repetitive movements. A study has shown that almost 25% of all sports-related injuries involve wrist and hand injuries. The common wrist injuries resulting from football are wrist ligament tear, wrist sprain, wrist fracture, and carpal tunnel syndrome. Pain, swelling, tenderness, and numbness are common symptoms of wrist injuries.
