Wrist injuries are common in rugby, and they occur when players fall onto their outstretched hands. Besides this, direct blow, overuse and improper throwing techniques can also be a cause. Traumatic injuries include strains, tendon inflammation, ligament tears, and fractures. Chronic injuries include tendonitis, stress fractures, and nerve injuries. Common symptoms of wrist injuries are pain, swelling, and weakness; however, the symptoms may be worse in severe injuries.
